American Girl

Lately, I've been getting comments from people, saying that I look thinner/lost weight. During one of my weekly Sunday brunches with the moms, she had said that I "looked good" and I "got smaller." She noticed that my cheeks even got smaller and that before, I used to be a little bit "extra." EXTRA? Thank mom.... My mom went so far as to ask me if I weighed 100lbs (HAH!). Um, mom, you are like 112lbs and I'm bigger than you...where's the logic in that???! My mom is so funny. That week when I went to Aditi's house for Bollywood Night, she kept commenting on how thin I was (I think it was just a flattering shirt). When I went up to Healdsburg, the first thing Steph said to me was, "Dee, you're tiny!" Throughout the entire night, Steph and Ang kept commenting on how I had definitely lost weight. Daniel even agreed. In a way, Derek even commented on my "weight loss".......kind of. "Did your boobs get smaller?" he has recently asked. 0.O I don't think so.........HAHA!

Want to know how I lost weight? I was sick for two weeks of my life...on a tea, soup, and cough drop diet.

So now I ask myself, why workout? All those years paying gym membership fees to get fit and lose the "extra" (as my mom would put it)...when, really, the secret to all weight loss is clear. STARVATION is the key! So sad......

COLDPLAY!

WHAT: COLDPLAY CONCERT

(hold on, my mom just called me to go to dinner.... T.B.C. lol!) -.-

Okay...I'm back. My mom made me go keep my aunt and her company for dinner since I was in Chinatown. I literally JUST ate, so I wasn't planning on eating...but we ate at Cafe Jacqueline and I couldn't resist. 1,000+ unnecessary calories later...................

What: COLDPLAY!!!
Where: Shoreline in Mountain View, CA
Date: July 13, 2009
Who: Me, Derek, Shannon, Cary, Annie, Tony w/ appearances made by Stephen Hom & Helene

So, my love for Coldplay is HUGE. They literally don't have a song that I do not like. I actually saw this same tour last summer at HP Pavillion. Haha! Except last time, I paid $100 more for crappy tix (last minute/spur of the moment decision 3 days prior to the concert). The seats were ON THE FLOOR....but in the back. I couldn't see shit. -.- Whatever, it's about the music right? Yes and no. The live presence of the band is well worth seeing.

When I found out that Coldplay, yes COLDPLAY, was going to perform at Shoreline...I HAD to get tickets. I think I bought tickets 6-7 months prior to the show......before I knew my summer schedule. Whatever class/event/work I had to do could either 1) wait 2) work around Coldplay 3) suck it! - nothing gets in the way of me & my fav. band!

I wanted to get to Shoreline 2 hrs before the show started...so I picked up Derek and we were on Highway 17 when he posed the simple question, "Do you have your ticket?" My face went went from =D excited to get to the show to LKJFLKSDJFLSFJKKSFJLSJLKSFJSLDFJL (if you can imagine a facial expression for that). UGH! How the fuck did I forget my damn ticket?????? I was so pissed. So I had to go back and get it. Needless to say, I drove like I was going for a crack run.

Because I had seen the Coldplay show prior, I was 100% sure they weren't going play Green Eyes. So the whole car ride and the whole time before they came on, I kept repeating the fact that I wish they would play Green Eyes but I know they won't........

Well guess fucking what.

In the middle of Coldplay's set...they perform ON THE LAWN like 10-20ft away from my FACE and start playing GREEN EYES. LIFE=COMPLETE. Of course Derek & I had a major cupcake moment. Duh. It gets better........BILLY JEAN ACOUSTIC. Whaaaaaaat?! Amazing...... you can just call me Denise Monica Martin. Thank you.

They gave out a free CD of a few live selections...needless to say, I haven't been listening to anything else since. Oh, and I will never forget the cellphone WAVE...very cool.
